Our members regularly train for and attend a variety of local and away regattas, and all members are invited to participate. We also have many members that simply row for social enjoyment, competitive regatta participation is not mandatory!

Open Rowing

The Club's open rowers range between 17 and 27 years of age, and include university students. They train together, or in combination with the masters rowers. In 2025 we're excited to be growing our focus as a Club on this age group. We'll have increased opportunities for both social & competitive rowing. Reach out to us to register your interest!

Townsville & JCU Premiership Regatta

We hold our annual regatta in April each year and it's always a great event. Competitors from across the North Qld Region (Mackay through Cairns) come to spend the weekend battling it out in a wide range of boat classes. A designated Rowing Queensland Premiership regatta, competitors can earn points towards their club's position on the state-wide leaderboard. It's also an opportunity to catch up with comrades -- the rowing community in the north has a lovely friendly vibe!
