Club Coaching
In the coming weeks we will have more news to share, but there are some exciting changes coming to the structure of our Club coaching programs this year. We will have an increased focus on social rowing with our Open rowers, and increased support around our Masters members who are coming out of learn to row programs. Stay tuned for more info in this space!
Retiring Boats
With our travel down south next weekend, we will be retiring some older boats from the Club fleet, and picking up a few new ones down there.
- Ann Chalmers II will be retired at this regatta, this boat is over 15 years old and has reached the end of its' life as a racing boat in our fleet.
- Just One will also be retired, this is one of the training sculls from the mobile rack. It will be for sale from next weekend, located in Brisbane as we are more likely to find a buyer for it down there.
New Boats
- A new WinTech International Lightweight single scull, this boat will be named Ann Chalmers III and will come in to the shed as a direct replacement for Ann Chalmers II. This boat was purchased under the Active Women & Girls Fund from the QLD State Government.
- A new WinTech International Lightweight quad/four, this boat is yet to be named, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to reach out to me. This boat has been purchased under the Community Gambling Benefit Fund from the QLD State Government and is an additional boat coming into the shed.
- A new WinTech Club Racer single scull, this boat will replace Just One, and is yet to be named. As above, if you have any suggestions on a name, please feel free to reach out to me. This boat was purchased using our own Club funds.
Repairs
- Focus will go away for the weekend to the QLD State Champs for repair at JB's Boatworks, it will be repaired over the weekend and come back.
- We will pick up parts to replace/repair the foot stretcher in the Graham Ward III at the regatta, this boat will be fully back in service the week after States.
As always, if you have any questions or feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out.
