Our club isn't just about racing; it's about building community and having a fantastic time on the water. We've got a super active social scene, with plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow rowers and enjoy the beauty of our river.
Social Rowing: Where Fun Meets Fitness!
- Saturday & Sunday Social Sessions: Kickstart your weekend with a friendly row! These sessions are perfect for mixing with both social and competitive rowers. Saturday mornings start bright and early at 5:15 am, and Sundays at 6:00 am. It's a great way to enjoy the sunrise and get some exercise in a relaxed atmosphere. (Need more info? - Big Boat Breakfasts: Splash & Giggles! Get ready for some serious fun! We draw names from a hat, form crews, and have lighthearted races in our big boats (eights, fours, and quads). It's all about enjoying the experience and getting to know each other. These breakfasts often coincide with Learn to Row graduations, making it a perfect opportunity to welcome new members. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious riverside breakfast with coffee and a smorgasbord as the sun rises over Townsville.
Events to Light Up Your Calendar!
- Glowing Rowing: Christmas Cheer on the Water! Get into the festive spirit with our unique Glowing Rowing event! We decorate our boats and rowers with lights and glow sticks, creating a magical spectacle on the river as the sun sets. It’s a hilarious and memorable experience that always brings smiles to everyone’s faces (and maybe a few confused looks from passersby!). And of course, we finish it off with post-row refreshments!
